Rules for Betting

There are four betting rounds in Texas Hold'em.

Bets and raises on the first two betting rounds are set at the lower limit of the stakes structure. In a $2/$4 game, all bets and raises are $2 for the first two rounds.

Bets and raises on the last two betting rounds are set at the higher limit of the stakes structure. In a $2/$4 game, all bets and raises are $4 for the last two rounds.

Four bets per player during any particular round is the maximum. This would consist of (1) a bet, (2) a raise, (3) a re-raise, and (4) a cap. Once the pot is capped, players will have only the option of calling or folding. There is no limit on the amount of raises once the hand becomes heads-up.

Dealer Button

In Texas Hold'em a disk called the dealer-button is used to indicate the dealer of each hand.

The dealer button moves clockwise after a hand has been completed to the next active player and this player will be playing the button for that game. The player to the left of the button is first to receive a card and is required to post a small blind. The small blind is equal to half the lower limit bet rounded down to the nearest dollar. The player to the left of the small blind is required to post the big blind. The big blind is equal to the lower limit bet.

The blinds are live bets and have the option of checking, calling, raising or folding when the betting action comes back around to their position. After the flop and after each subsequent betting round, the first active player left of the button is first to act.

Tri-Card Poker

Description and Objective

Tri-Card Poker is a slight twist on Poker and is similar to Caribbean Stud Poker. Both the player and the dealer get three cards.

There are two different bets:

  1. Pair Plus
The player bets if his hand will have a pair or better
  2. Ante
The player competes with the dealer.

Game Play

The player can place either the Pair Plus bet OR the Ante bet, OR both. After placing his bets, both the player and the dealer receive three cards.

If the player bets on Pair Plus, he is rewarded according to the Pair Plus Payout Table if his hand contains a pair or better. If the player bets on Ante, he must now decide either to fold, if he does not think he can beat the dealer's hand, or to raise and challenge the dealer.

If the player chooses to fold, he loses the Ante bet AND the Pair Plus bet (if he placed one) and the game is over. If the player chooses to raise, he bets an additional amount equal to the ante bet, the dealer reveals his cards, a winner is determined, win paid if applicable, and the game is over. To determine the game winner after the player has raised, the dealer's hand must first “qualify”.

In Tri-Card Poker, the dealer's hand qualifies if it ranks as High Card with a Queen or ranks as a Pair or better. If the dealer's hand does not qualify, the player wins 1 to 1 on the ante bet and “pushes” the raise bet (i.e. the player gets the raise bet back without winning or losing).

If the dealer's hand does qualify, the best ranking hand wins. If the dealer's hand ranks higher, the player loses both the ante bet and the raise bet. If the player's hand ranks higher, the player wins 1 to 1 on both the ante and raise bets, and wins the raise bet calculated according to the Raise Pay Table, below. If both the dealer's hand and the player's hand have the same rank, the highest ranking card determines the winner (for example, a Pair of Kings beats a Pair of 10s). Finally, if the dealer's hand ties the player's hand both the ante bet and the raise bet are pushed back to the player.

If the player places an ante bet, raises the bet, and his hand contains a straight, three of a kind, or a straight flush, he is paid a bonus according to the Ante Bonus Payout Table (regardless of whether or not the dealer qualifies).

Caribbean Stud Poker

First, click on the chips to place an ante. To remove chips from the ante, right click on the chips on the table. Progressive Jackpot Side Bet: You also have the option to make the progressive jackpot side bet – click on the coin slit above the Ante field on card table. The blinking light above the slit turns green. It costs $1, out of which a certain percentage goes to the progressive jackpot pool. If you get a flush or higher, you win a certain percentage of the jackpot (see the winnings table below). Current size of the jackpot is shown on the left side of the table. To queue chips, click on the coin slit several times. Each click stores one $1 chip. Every time you start a new game round, one $1 chip is taken from the queue for the progressive jackpot side bet. You can queue up to ten chips.

Now click on Deal to deal the cards. You will be dealt a five-card hand, face up. No additional cards will be dealt for the duration of this game round.

Decide whether to stay in or fold. If you fold (click on Fold button), you will lose your ante and this game round is over for you. If you stay (click on Call), you add double the amount of your ante to the bet.

Now the dealer's cards are flipped over so everyone can see them. If the dealer's hand does not include an Ace/King combination or higher, the dealer does not qualify. You win even money (1 to 1) on the ante and the additional bet is returned. If the dealer's hand includes a combination that is higher than yours, you lose both the ante and the additional bet. If the dealer's hand contains an Ace/King or higher, but your hand is higher, you win even money on the ante and the additional bet pays according to the winnings table.

Seven-Card Stud

OBJECT: The best five card poker hand, out of seven cards, wins the pot.

  1. Players must place an ante into the pot.
  2. Each player is dealt two cards face-down (hole cards) and one card face-up (door card)
  3. 1st betting round
  4. Each player is dealt one card face-up (4th street)
  5. 2nd betting round
  6. Each player is dealt another card face-up (5th street)
  7. 3rd betting round
  8. Each player is dealt another card face-up (6th street)
  9. 4th betting round
  10. Each player is dealt a last card face-down (river)
  11. Last betting round
  12. Showdown (Every remaining player shows hand with bettor showing first)

Players may use any 5 of their 7 cards to make their best hand.

Betting Rules

All players must first ante before they receive their initial cards. There are five betting rounds in a complete game of 7-Card Stud, ante not included.

On the first round of betting, the low card by suit is required to initiate action with a bet equal to half the lower limit. Suits are ranked: spades (highest), hearts, diamonds, clubs. On subsequent rounds, the high hand on board initiates betting action. If hands are tied, the player to the left of the dealer acts first. In all cases, the dealer will inform the players as to who acts first.

Each bet and raise during the first two rounds of betting is set at the lower limit of the stakes structure. For example in a $2/$4 game, all bets and raises are $2 for the first two rounds. The exception to this rule is if any player displays a pair with their 2 face-up cards on 4th Street. In this circumstance, all players have the option to bet either the lower limit or the higher limit. If a player bets the higher limit, then all subsequent raises must be made at the higher limit.

Each bet and raise during the last three rounds of betting is set at the higher limit of the stakes structure. For example in a $2/$4 game, all bets and raises are $4 for the last three rounds.

The maximum allowable number of bets per player during any particular betting round is four.

This would consist of

  1. a bet
  2. a raise
  3. a re-raise
  4. a cap.

Once the pot is capped, players will have only the option of calling or folding. There is no limit on the amount of raises once the hand becomes heads-up.

European Slot Poker

Description and Objective

To play, click the chips to put money into the machine, and press the Bet button to place a wager of 1 to 10 coins. Click the Play button and 5 cards are dealt face-up.

The game picks the best hand possible based on the cards dealt and will hold them for you, unless you decide to change the selection. The player then decides which cards to keep or “hold” and which cards to discard.

The player simply clicks with the mouse on each card they wish to hold. The player clicks the “Play” button again and new cards will be dealt where the discarded cards once appeared. Your final hand determines whether you win or lose the game.

Game Play

High-Low Double Your Win Sub-Game

Whenever there is a winning hand, you have the option to play a High-Low card sub-game to keep doubling your win, where you can bet if the next card dealt is a high or a low card, up to 5 wins in a row. You also have an option to choose only to wager half of your win by clicking “Half Gamble.” The other half is returned to your credits. A winning bet on high or low doubles your win and gives you the option to continue or to collect your winnings, and a losing bet removes your bonus and win, completing the hand.

The “High” Cards are the: Joker, Bell, Watermelon, Plum and the Lemon.

The “Low” Cards are the: Bar, Joker, Cherry, and the Diamond.

European Slot Poker Hands Pay Table

Because each poker hand depends on the bet amount placed for each hand, please see the Pay Table button in the game for the correct pay table.

Fruit Bonus

Once a player receives 4 plums, 4 watermelons, 4 bells, and 4 cherries, they receive the Fruit Bonus. This bonus amount is based on the bet amount. Once the player receives the bonus, they have the option to either collect their bonus and win, or to play the High-Low double your win sub-game.

Cherry Bonus

Once a player receives 2 cherries, the Cherry Bonus meter is increased based on the bet amount. Once the meter reaches its maximum capacity, the player is awarded the Cherry Bonus amount displayed below the meter. Once the player receives the bonus, they have the option to either collect their bonus and win, or to play the High-Low double your win sub-game.

European Slot Poker Game

European Slot Poker is played for either $.05, $.25, $.50, $1.00, and $5 and you may play from 1 to 10 coins per hand.

Card Decks

The game uses a deck of 141 cards, and the number of cards left in the deck is displayed on the screen next to the deck in a counter. The deck state is maintained for each player per credit value, number of credits bet, for money or for fun. The deck is shuffled when the player first enters the game. If the number of cards in the deck becomes less than or equal to 25, it is automatically shuffled. The deck is also shuffled after every winning combination and after each Cherry Bonus.

The deck is shuffled between the “regular” game and the High-Low sub-game. The number of cards remaining in each group (High or Low) is displayed on the screen during the sub-game. The deck is not shuffled in between cards dealt in the High-Low game.

Mystery Bonus Poker

Mystery Bonus Poker combines a slot machine and a video poker machine all in one, and gives you the opportunity to try for either the regular best hand, or to go for the Mystery Bonus.

Once a player hits the deal button, this starts the Mystery Bonus reel (similar to a slot machine reel) spinning. Once the reel completes its spin, then 5 cards are dealt to the player. One of the pay lines will be increased (and the others may be adjusted) based on the spin from the Mystery Bonus reel. The player can then choose to go for the now revealed “Mystery Bonus” highlighted on the special pay line or just aim for the best poker hand (using the rest of the pay table).

Please see the pay table on this machine for additional information.

Pai Gow Poker

Description and Objective

Pai Gow Poker is a card game played with a 53-card deck consisting of a standard deck of 52 cards plus one Joker. In this version of Pai Gow Poker, the banker (or house) always plays as the dealer and covers all bets, and the player only competes against the dealer. The player receives seven cards, which must then be “set” or split into two poker hands: a five-card hand and a two-card hand. Once split, the player's two hands are compared with the dealer's two hands to determine the winner.

The bank pays the winner—minus a 5% commission—and the game ends. The commission is 5% of the bet and is rounded up to the next quarter. For example, a minimum bet of $6 would be a commission of 50 cents. (5% of $6 = 30 cents, but since the commission is rounded up to the next 25 cents; the commission is actually 50 cents. 5% of $11 = 55 cents, which makes the actual commission 75 cents)

Game Play

The Deal

For each game, the dealer shuffles the deck and deals out seven cards into each hand—the dealer's cards remain unknown. The player must then “set” or split their seven cards into two poker hands: a five-card hand and a two-card hand.

Splitting cards and rules on the Joker

Pai Gow Poker places only one restriction upon splitting the initial seven cards: the five-card hand must have a higher poker rank than the two-card hand. The only other twist during the game is how to play the Joker. The Joker can be used to complete a five-card flush, straight, or straight flush. Otherwise, the Joker counts as an ace.

Ranking the Hands

The hands are ranked according to standard poker rules with one exception: the Ace-2-3-4-5 straight is the second highest straight. Straights rank, from highest to lowest: Ace-K-Q-J-10, Ace-2-3-4-5, K-Q-J-10-9 … 6-5-4-3-2. Also, keep in mind that the best two-card hand is a pair of aces; the two-card hand cannot have a flush (since a flush requires five cards).

Royal Flush

6D, 6S, 6C, 6H

Full House
3 of a kind, plus a pair
2H, 2D, 2S, 3H, 3S

One Pair
1 pair (2 cards) of same rank
KD, KH

High Card
5 cards of different ranks and suits
AH, KS, 10D, 5C, 2

Determining the Winner

The player's two hands are compared with the dealer's two hands to determine the winner. If both the player's five-card hand and two-card hand has a higher poker rank than both the dealer's hands (5 cards and 2 cards), the player wins. If both of the dealer's hands beat both of the player's hands, the dealer wins. If either the player or the dealer wins only one of the two hands, the game is a push and neither the dealer nor the player wins. When either the five-card hands or the two-card hands rank exactly the same, the equal hands are called “copies” of each other. The dealer wins all copy hands. For example, if the player beats the dealer in the five-card hand but copies the dealer with the two-card hand, the game is a push.

The Payout

When the player's two hands beat the dealer's two hands, the player wins an amount equal to the original bet minus a 5% commission. The commission is 5% of the bet and is rounded up to the next quarter as described above.

To better see all possible ways to split the initial seven cards, re-arrange the hand by dragging cards to different locations. Automatically, cards are initially sorted from highest to lowest.

After selecting two cards to place into the two-card hand, clicking the split button arranges the seven cards into two hands 0 – a five-card hand and a two-card hand – and continues the game.

Pai Gow Poker Differences – Physical vs. Online

Physical:
Players may play more than one hand when sitting at a Pai Gow table with fewer players than hands. The extra hands are called “dragon” hands.

Online:
The player may play only one hand; dragon hands are not supported.

Physical:
A player may choose to be the banker and must cover all winning bets.

Online:
The dealer is always the banker.

Physical:
Splitting the seven-card hand incorrectly so the two-card hand has a higher poker rank than the five-card hand forfeits the game.

Online:
The player may re-split the hand. The game only continues when the five-card hand has a higher poker rank than the two-card hand.

Physical:
The player can ask the house for help when deciding how to split the hand. The house would then show how it would split the hand.

Online:
The online version does not support asking the house for help.

Let'Em Ride Poker

Description and Objective

Let'Em Ride is a variation of poker, except that the player plays against the house and does not compete against the dealer or other players. The player is dealt three cards and the dealer is dealt two. The objective of the game is to get any winning poker hand consisting of a pair of 10's or higher, using all five cards.

Game Play

After placing the ante bet, the player receives three cards face up, and the dealer receives two cards face down. The player decides whether or not he wants to raise the original bet (by the same amount as the original bet), or continue without a raise to the next round of play. Once the player decides to raise or continue, the dealer's first card will be shown. Now the player has another opportunity to raise or continue. If he decides to raise, the bet will again increase by the original bet amount. After the player raises or continues, the dealer's second (last) card is shown.

After the dealer's last card is shown, the player's hand is evaluated as a normal poker hand, combining the player's three cards and the dealer's two cards. If the player has a pair of tens or any higher winning poker hand, the player wins. Otherwise, the player loses.
